UEA500: First Solar Park in the Ecuadorian Amazon<\/span><\/h1>\n

A pioneering project for the energy transition in Ecuador.<\/h3>\n

On June 6, 2024<\/strong>, Belga Solar signed a historic partnership for the construction of a 500 kWp solar plant in the Amazon region. Just a few months later, on January 29, 2025<\/strong>, this vision became a reality with the inauguration of the first photovoltaic solar park in the Ecuadorian Amazon<\/strong>, located on the campus of the Universidad Estatal Amaz\u00f3nica (UEA)<\/strong> in Puyo.<\/p>\n

This project, known as UEA500<\/strong>, perfectly embodies Belga Solar\u2019s mission: delivering clean, accessible, and sustainable energy through exemplary international cooperation.<\/p>\n

A solar installation serving a university and its students<\/h3>\n

With 1,220 Belga Solar photovoltaic panels<\/strong>, the solar park now covers 100% of the university\u2019s electricity demand<\/strong>. Nearly 5,000 students and faculty members<\/strong> directly benefit from this local, renewable energy source.<\/p>\n

Each year, the installation will generate around 593 MWh of green electricity<\/strong>, preventing the emission of approximately 287 tons of CO\u2082eq<\/strong>. Beyond the figures, the project provides an entire academic community with a stable and sustainable energy supply, right in the heart of the Amazon.<\/p>\n

UEA500 is the result of close cooperation between Belgium and Ecuador<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
