Our international activities
Belga Solar is not limited to Belgium: our ambition is to contribute to the global energy transition. Our solar panels, manufactured in Wallonia with full traceability and a majority of European components, are already installed in several European countries.
A stronger presence in Luxembourg with Solar Cells
To support this momentum, Belga Solar relies on its sister company Solar Cells, based in Luxembourg. This strategic entity enables us to develop synergies in the cross-border region, strengthen our European network and ensure greater proximity to our international customers. Together, Belga Solar and Solar Cells form a leading European hub in the photovoltaic sector.
European certification: a key step in our international development
Our photovoltaic modules, designed and manufactured in Belgium, meet the highest European quality standards. Certified and listed on the White List (Made-in-Europe-Bonus) under the EAG Investitionszuschüsseverordnung-Strom 2025 in Austria since September 2025, they enjoy official recognition that facilitates their integration into European markets. Thanks to this certification, Belga Solar confirms its position as a reliable partner for international solar projects, guaranteeing transparency, performance and compliance with local requirements.
Flagship international project: a solar installation in Ecuador
In 2024, Belga Solar reached a new milestone with the completion of a major project in Latin America.
An exceptional site
This project is being carried out for the Universidad Estatal Amazónica (UAE), in the heart of Ecuador’s Amazon region. Installing panels in a tropical environment demonstrates our technical adaptability and our commitment to bringing clean energy to areas that are strategic for biodiversity and the future of the climate.
Significant power
The installation will reach 500 kWp, thanks to the installation of 1,220 Belga Solar panels. It is a unique reference for the region and confirms our growing role in the global energy transition.
A showcase for Latin America
This project is the first step in our Latin American development. It will serve as a showcase for other projects in Ecuador and neighbouring countries, and demonstrates our ability to export Belgian and European know-how beyond the continent.
